Birdy started spinning vinyl at underground parties across London/Essex in the mid-eighties and early nineties blending genres such as Soul – Disco – Jazz Funk – Ska – Hip Hop and House music… but his focus has on always been on entertaining the crowd by wearing outrageous outfits (inc what has become his ‘symbol’ – a giant set of wings) and ultimately creating an element of fun…

He took a musical hiatus during the mid 90’s before returning in the early 00’s being invited to reignite and bring back his passion for music at many clubs across London once more. This led to the inception of his infamous ‘Aviary’ nights and the opportunity to meet/play alongside many of his djing heroes inc Frankie Knuckles, Froggy, Carl Cox, Terry Jones, Kerri Chandler, Dr Bob Jones, Joey Negro, Bob Masters, Dimitri from Paris, Paul ‘Trouble’ Anderson, Bob Sinclar, Brandon Block, Ron Carroll and Fedde le Grand to name but a few.

Also, starting the record label (Far Horizon Records) with Music producer Matt Early proved to be a successful sojourn…

In recent years Birdy has played on many Festivals and International events such as Ibiza Soul Week, HOPEfest, Night at the Playboy Mansion, Summer Soulstice, Summer Breeze Soul Week, Strawberry Woods Festival and Salou Soul. 

Spanning those years has also been his inclusion on many of the UK’s leading music stations inc Stomp Radio, House Fm, Zero Radio , Starpoint Radio, Jazz Funk Soul Radio and his current ‘Traxsource Top 100 Chart Show’ which goes out every Wed on Boogie Bunker Radio .
