Buying her first record at the age of 11. Anita still keeps this rare piece of vinyl in her record box, only to be taken out as a reminder of how her love for music first started.
Playing at friends house parties for fun and the legendary ‘Parents are out’ house parties just enhanced the desire to play to a larger crowd.
Her first professional gig was at a local pub that her sister managed (hence the name Soulsista).
A twice monthly residency that grew in popularity playing to a commercial crowd but Anita’s real love was for the more rare tunes. Rare Groove and Modern Soul is her ‘thing’, However, at one of her residency nights you’ll hear anything from Hip Hop, 80’s soul to Disco.. theres something for everyone.
Anita has played at numerous all day soul events, had her weekender debut at Hayling Island Summer Soul Weekender and has been presenting her show ‘From the Soul’ on Stomp Radio for 3 years.
In her spare time Anita indulges in her love of horses, exercising and loves a good film. A great cook but rubbish baker !!!
